Wild at Heart Owl Release Brings Happy Ending

October 26, 2017

By Laurel Strohmeyer

What an incredibly special night it was to be able to release Pistol, Phoenix, and 2 other young Great Horned Owls. As you may remember Pistol & Phoenix were born here on our property and when Piper (their) mom passed away, they had to be rescued. Wild at Heart, (our raptor rescue and rehab center) took great care of them and so many others. Now they are free!

They have been set free in a wonderful location with natural springs, and waterfall that runs 6 months out of the year. It’s an ideal location where they will have an excellent chance of thriving located about thirty minutes from N. Scottsdale bordering the Tonto National Forest.

I can’t begin to tell you how moving this experience was. I think I will be touched by it forever.

Here is a link to the video and photos we shot of the event.

Enjoy!
