Thank you Scottsdale Roadside Cleanup Volunteers for your support! Thanks go to: Diana and Councilman David Smith, Gina and Jake Kulp, Bill Nelson, Marg Nelssen, John Rodwick, Mary and Frank Montgomery, Judy and Evan Haft, Jane and John Guild, Gary Hohner, Connie Boose, Betty Zimpfer, Chris Filipp, Pete Gil, Jane Ceasor and Glen Lenzen.

A long-standing area tradition continued on Saturday, April 21st. Neighbors who live along or near Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive gathered to clear roadside litter along North Scottsdale Road from Carefree Highway south to Happy Valley Road, a distance of 6 1/2 miles. After the cleanup, prize drawings were held.

The Scottsdale Scenic Drive cleanups began 24 years ago and are conducted by Friends of the Scenic Drive, a corps of volunteers within the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association. Friends works to preserve and enhance Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive, a.k.a. Desert Foothills Scenic Drive. The Scenic Drive was established by area residents in 1963 to preserve roadside vegetation and establish scenic setbacks.

As the cleanup event progressed, Cindy Lee took photos and created the photo journal shown below. Not everyone “got into the picture” but the contributions of all who came are much appreciated! We look forward to seeing you in October for the next cleanup! And thank you again for your time and efforts to help keep the Scenic Drive clean and scenic.
