GPPA – Friends of the Scenic Drive Thanks Residents and Community Leaders for Their Support

The application for  the development of a large self-storage facility adjacent to Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive has been withdrawn by the applicant.  The project was proposed for the northwest corner of Lone Mountain and Scottsdale Roads.

There was widespread opposition to the facility and the required commercial zoning  on Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive.  The Greater Pinnacle Peak Association (GPPA) Board of Directors had voted unanimously to oppose the project.

The GPPA Scottsdale City Council Candidates Forum was held on October 11th. During the forum, all five candidates voiced their opposition to the proposed storage facility. GPPA thanks the many residents who attended the two open house meetings and the Scottsdale Planning Commission hearing and spoke out against the facility.
