Many of the state’s top leaders in science, technology and education will gather in Scottsdale Oct. 1 for the Arizona Innovation Summit.

The summit will showcase cutting-edge programs and products linked to STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. It also serves as a prime networking and professional development opportunity for STEAM professionals and educators.

The summit is a joint collaborative between Arizona SciTech and the Arizona Commerce Authority, and is focused on the lifecycle of Innovation – from Inspiration to Commercialization.  Featured speakers include Arizona Board of Regents President Eileen Klein and Steven Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council.

“We’re excited to bring together some of the state’s most talented thinkers to discuss innovation,” said Jeremy Babendure, executive director of the Arizona SciTech Festival. “Scottsdale is an ideal place for the summit given its central location and strong, diverse business, education and research communities.”

The summit takes place from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second St. The event features more than 50 exhibitors from across the state and 20 interactive learning sessions. Early registration for the summit is $20 and can be made at: www.azscitech.com.

Sessions will be organized around the following tracks:

  • Innovation – Entrepreneurs and investors share best practices about developing your pitch, girls in technology, co-working spaces and more.
  • Festival & Events – Best practices to plan, promote and build partnerships for your event.
  • STEM & Education – Innovative ideas and practices to impact science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics in and out of the classroom.
