Thursday, Sept 5th the City of Scottsdale celebrated the coordinators of the Adopt-A-Road Program. Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane presented awards to coordinators who have organized cleanups for sections of roadside assigned to their group. Awards were made to those who have been volunteer coordinators for 5-9 years,  10 years and more, and since the program began in 1996.

Among award recipients was Les Conklin, president of the  Greater Pinnacle Peak Association (GPPA). , which publishes The Peak. Les began organizing cleanups for Friends of the Scenic Drive (now part of GPPA) in 1996.

The dinner and awards ceremony was organized by Bruce Wall, City of Scottsdale. Thank you for a very nice evening and your support.
