Sam, Corki & Terravita helped the Scenic Drive. You can too.

In 1997, residents celebrated when a $30,000 donation was made to the Scenic Drive for installation of visitor exhibits and drive entry signs, which were installed in 1998. A Scenic Drive website, a forerunner of this site, was also launched in 1997.

In a vibrant growing community where development threatens the natural environment and quality of life, it takes steadfastness, work, TLC, and financial support to fend off the forces of time and change. Sam Campana, Mayor of Scottsdale, and the residents and developer of Terravita understood the challenge and helped to preserve and enhance the Drive, a unique landmark established in1963.
Jake Kulp, a member of Friends of the Scenic Drive and resident of north Scottsdale, is organizing a Friends exhibit maintenance project to re-paint the rocks that surround each roadside exhibit plant and clear the numerous exhibits of weeds and overgrowth. Friends also plans to restore the original appearance of the Scenic Drive’s entry and exhibit monuments by giving them a fresh coat of paint.
