Application to Relocate Greasewood to Land Near Preserve Withdrawn

October 17, 2014

North Scottsdale activist Howard Myers reports that the request to relocate Greasewood Flat to a parcel next to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, has been withdrawn by the applicant. The associated cases 5-GP-2014 and 11-ZN-2014 will not be heard at the October 22nd  City of Scottsdale Planning Commission.

The other three City of Scottsdale General Plan cases for Pinnacle Peak Patio, El Regalo, and Cavalliere Ranch, and their associated zoning cases, will still be heard at this meeting as scheduled.

Many residents wrote letters and attended meetings expressing their concerns and opposition. In addition, the owners of Sereno Canyon retained an attorney fight relocation of the bar, and city staff recommended denial.

The rezoning of the 462 acres in the same area, Cavalliere Ranch case 13-ZN-2014, is still active and due to be heard by the planning commission meeting on November 12th.
