The tradition of cutting off neckties worn by unsuspecting guests was carried on for decades at north Scottsdale’s Pinnacle Peak Patio. Celebrate the tradition on March 5th. You don’t even need a tie and you could win a stay and dinner at the Four Seasons Resort.
It’s not often that almost all the members of the City of Scottsdale City Council come to far north Scottsdale, yet that is exactly what is happening on Saturday, March 5th. More than a supermajority of Scottsdale’s city council will be joining other guests at the Scottsdale Western Cookout Adventure at MacDonald’s Ranch. GPPA’s event, which benefits Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive, environment, and quality of life, provides a convenient opportunity for residents and out-of-town visitors to greet city leaders.
Buy Tickets InformationIf you join in the 40-member all-volunteer community drum circle, visit the community exhibits, take a selfie having a necktie cut by Big Marv, or try to win a stay at the Four Seasons or Fairmont Princess, the odds are you’ll be sharing the fun with members of the council and their spouse. Whether you’d like to ask a question, express a concern, or just thank council members for their service, the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to make your wish come true.
The Scottsdale Western Cookout Adventure is not a political event by any means – no political information is distributed – but it provides a place to mix and mingle with neighbors, visitors, and community leaders. Council members Suzanne Klapp, Virginia Korte, Kathy Littlefield, Linda Millhaven, Guy Phillips, and David Smith, will be on-hand. Mayor Jim Lane sent regrets, letting GPPA know that he had a previously scheduled something on that date.
