Video. What Brought You Here?

I can tell you a story about how I felt a special attraction to Scottsdale and the Valley of the Sun and how our family made the decision to live here, and then made it happen.  Our story is unique but having a Scottsdale discovery story is not unique. Just about every resident has one.

The Scottsdale Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, whose offices are located in the  Galleria Corporate Office Center (pictured here), has just released a new 30-second commercial to attract visitors.  When I watched it for the first time at the bureau’s annual meeting, it reminded me of some of the feelings attached to my discovery story, which takes a lot longer than 30 seconds to tell.  Here is a video of the commercial and a press release that describes it. Enjoy. Perhaps, it will bring back your discovery story.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Oct. 25, 2013) – The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau’s new television commercial highlights the beauty, bliss and elegance that can be found while vacationing in Scottsdale.

The magical qualities of the Sonoran Desert come to life in the 30-second commercial, which will air in Scottsdale’s primary target markets – Chicago, New York, Canada, Los Angeles and San Francisco – throughout the year.

“Our brand campaign appeals to the sophisticated, leisure audience,” said Caroline Stoeckel, vice president of marketing at the bureau. “The commercial further entices them by exploring the idea that the reality of vacationing in Scottsdale is like a fantasy, and that fantasy can become a reality.”

In the commercial, a surreal vacation comes to life with vibrant colors and rich designs that invigorate the senses. The dreamlike scenes encompass the essence of the bureau’s Richly Sonoran brand campaign by using locations such as Pinnacle Peak, the pool at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, and a scenic view of the city from J&G Steakhouse at The Phoenician.

The commercial is the product of the combined efforts of the in-house creative team at the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and MPC, a leading creative studio notorious for adding visual wonder and creative expertise to film and entertainment. MPC’s work includes projects such as the Harry Potter franchise, Life of Pi and advertising campaigns for Samsung, Coca Cola and Sony.
