The Veterans Heritage Project connects students with veterans. Student usually interviews veterans in person and then write a about the veterans military service. The project then publishes these stories in book form. Now, VHP lectures will feature veterans telling their stories: “you too will be moved, humbled, and inspired by the personal historical accounts of our nation’s heroes.” The first lecture in the series will be held at Cactus Shadows High School on September 7th.

He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.
