Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that has been committed to providing services to teens and adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities throughout Scottsdale and the Greater Phoenix community. STARS participants each have individual needs and circumstances, including learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders or other physical and sensory challenges. STARS serves as a lifetime support system for participants and their families.

 STARS serves 200 individuals daily and programming is available at two Scottsdale locations: Osborn Campus and Cholla Special Needs Community Campus. The Osborn Campus offers Day Training Adult programming, a Work Center, and Group Supported Employment opportunities and STARS’ administrative offices (480) 994-5704. The Cholla Campus The Cholla campus offers Day Training Adult programming, Transitions programming and a Work Center.

He was named to Scottsdale's History Maker Hall of Fame in 2014. Les is a past editor of A Peek at the Peak and the author of Images of America: Pinnacle Peak. He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.
