Scottsdale Veterans Day event features Bob Parsons, veteran and entrepreneur

Bob Parsons, a decorated U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, will be the keynote speaker at Scottsdale’s annual Veterans Day commemoration.

The event takes place at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, 7301 E. Indian Bend Road. The program is free and open to the public.

Parsons, best known as the founder of GoDaddy, is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the CEO and founder of YAM Worldwide, which is home to his entrepreneurial ventures in the fields of motorcycles, golf, real estate, marketing, innovation and philanthropy.

The Veterans Day program also will feature Congressman David Schweikert and U.S. Air Force veteran and Scottsdale historian Joan Fudala. The 108th Army Band kicks off the program at 3 p.m. with a half-hour of patriotic music. In addition, military branch and veteran services representatives will be on hand to provide information. Refreshments are provided courtesy of Shamrock Foods Company and the Wildflower Bread Company.

Local Veterans organizations host ceremony, Nov. 11
Scottsdale’s Veterans organizations will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Scottsdale City Hall, Chaplain Statue, 3939 N.
