FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Reduce your winter water use and save. Scottsdale Water calculates sewer fees based on winter water use. Reducing your use during December, January and February will help you save money all year long.

Ladder falls top injuries during holiday decorating. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 13,000 people are treated annually in emergency rooms nationwide during November and December from injuries related to holiday decorations. Follow these safety tips.

“No Burn” days put into effect for important reasons. Smoke from wood burning fireplaces and outdoor chimineas pose health risks. Maricopa County also risks falling out of compliance with federal health standards, which could mean more burdensome and costly federal regulations. As a general practice, try using these alternatives: natural gas logs, retrofitted fireplaces (if available), electric fireplaces; TV “streamed” fireplace scenes.
