A new recruiting website offers potential employees insight into the city. To be more proactive reaching the next generation of job seekers, the city contracted with The Muse to create a site that goes well beyond job listings. It allows the city to share its unique brand as an employer, and showcase its work culture and values. Six employees provide insight into not only their jobs, but what it’s like to work for the city.
Scottsdale celebrates Pinnacle Peak Park’s 15th anniversary. Visitors will receive commemorative bandanas Thursday, April 20. The nonprofit Friends of Pinnacle Peak Park is paying for the gifts. The 150-acre park is a popular climbing and hiking spot that has hosted more than 3.5 million visitors since opening. The actual number, 1,941,347, was a 2 percent bump over last year. The San Francisco Giants, who play at Scottsdale Stadium, saw the league’s second largest crowds with 182,518 fans. The team followed the World Champion Chicago Cubs who hosted 251,899 attendees. Public invited to comment on text amendment changes to “care homes/group homes.” The city is hosting two open houses to discuss amending definitions to this category and modifying criteria for these homes in single-family residential districts. They take place Wednesday, April 19, at the Granite Reef Senior Center; and Thursday, April 27, at the Via Linda Senior Center. Both run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Celebrate Earth Day with citywide litter pickup.
