Brad Lindsay

Speaker: Brad Lindsay, CEO Horizon Energy Systems
Brad has over 35 years of field experience in making homes more energy efficient based on climate specific conditions. He started Horizon Energy Systems in Detroit in the spring of 1978 with a focus on solar energy and energy efficient furnaces and boilers. Not being able generate much solar energy through grey skies it became apparent a move to a sunnier climate would enhance his opportunities. After venturing south through Nashville, Florida, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Tucson, LA and Denver, he settled in Phoenix where he was drawn to the desert air, blue skies and flaming sunsets. Having a background of working in the cold North, the desert presented Brad a new twist on building science. He has since developed a climate specific approach for helping to keep buildings cool in the summer desert sun. Brad came up with the slogan “Conserving Energy Today … For Tomorrow” in 1981, and it looks like tomorrow has arrived.

Admission: The lecture series is sponsored by the Scottsdale Green Building Program. The lectures are free and open to the public; no reservations are needed.
