Friends of Scenic Drive wins Governor’s Pride in Arizona Award
Friends of the Scenic Drive (FSD) was one of only three organizations in 2003 honored with the prestigious statewide Community Leadership Governor’s Pride in Arizona Award. The Friends have been recognized for their outstanding achievement in preserving the environmental heritage of this beautiful area through motivating and coordinating local volunteers, businesses and the community.FSD has built community pride through education and leadership, creation and maintenance of plant exhibits on North Scottsdale Road, preservation and enhancement of roadside vegetation and vistas, reduction of pollution, publicizing the heritage of the Scenic Drive and support of Preserve and Scenic Corridors.
