Diagram of Plant Sites – 1983

In 1995 Friends of the Scenic Drive used this diagram to locate and restore the plant sites on both sides of Scottsdale Road. This diagram was given to Friends by Jo Walker of the Cave Creek Improvement Association. The diagram shows major intersections. Circles designate the relative locations of exhibit plants. The number within each circle identifies the type of plant found at that site. After the widening of Scottsdale Road to four lanes in 1996, Friends chose new plant sites approximately 1/4 mile apart to improve the sense of continuity. A variety of species were selected.
