“Save the Scenic Drive” Buzz on Social Media, Email

The Peak just posted its new “SAVE THE SCENIC DRIVE FROM MORE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT” Video on social media and we are getting quite a bit of feedback, along with emails from local readers and Peak editorial contributors. Here are just a few of the recent comments. We invite you to use the comment area below this article to let us know what you think.

“Very enlightening. Arizona is so beautiful … We just keep developing, how can we possibly need so much? We need open spaces!” Linda V.

“Plus where’s the water coming from for any new developers wake up people we are running out of water. Hello anybody listening? Just hate new developments just stop already there’s not enough to support what development already there. What’s it gonna take for people to get this.”  – Prema S.
“Pleeeeaaaase, save our land!” – Phyllis W.
“Uh Oh” – Gregory W.

“It needs to be saved. Such a beautiful area.” Aj B.

“Sorry to hear about this. Good luck keeping it on the table forever.” – Lora J.

“For goodness’ sake, Scottsdale leaders cannot be that stupid as to choose to kill the golden goose they have left, the Scenic Drive, can they? Phoenix killed their portion of it and what did they get in return? Nothing much other than cookie cutter housing and commercial development destroying what had been a stunning drive that pulled tourists up from Phoenix to see the real desert.”  – Email, Cave Creek Resident  Read Entire Message/Article

“Outrageous!” – Carol D.

“Attached please find Part V and the conclusion to One Mile From Home. I hope that in some way this will help with the preservation of the ENTIRE preserve and if there is anything else I can do please just holler.  Gary Z., Author of “One Mile From Home”  Read Latest Installment

“Everyone wants to stop development right after they’ve had their own little piece carved out of the landscape. Typical.” – Roy G.

“And no matter what, the Scenic Drive MUST be preserved as it exists right now so that Arizonans and visitors can still see the splendor  that has enchanted and thrilled so many. We cannot allow the destruction of the only remaining, the basic essence of natural beauty we have left here along one of our signature roadways  to placate the State Land Department. Scottsdale and all area residents must stand up against this steamroller tactic!” – Email, Cave Creek Resident  Read Entire Message/Article
