Provide Feedback on Scottsdale General Plan 2035 Update

March 5, 2021

Be a part of Scottsdale’s vision – provide feedback on the General Plan 2035 Update

Residents have plenty of opportunities to provide input on Scottsdale’s General Plan Update.

The plan is the primary tool for guiding the future of the city. It contains the community’s goals and policies on:

  • Character and design
  • Land use
  • Open space and the natural environment
  • Business and economics
  • Neighborhood vitality
  • Transportation and growth

The plan shapes the physical form of the city, yet it also addresses other aspects, such as community services, protection of desert and mountain lands, arts and culture, community health and well-being, and the character of neighborhoods.

Review the draft plan.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Attend a Virtual Open House:
  • Monday, March 8: 8:30-10 a.m., 11:30 p.m.-1 pm., 5:30-7 p.m. The same information will be presented at all sessions, so please choose one.
  • Monday, March 15: 8:30-10 a.m., 11:30 p.m.-1 pm., 5:30-7 p.m. The same information will be presented at all sessions, so please choose one.

Register here.

  • Take a self-guided Virtual Open House tour: If you are unable to attend any of the live Virtual Open House sessions, you can provide input through a self-guided Virtual Open Housetour that covers the same topics as those in the live sessions.
  • Submit your feedback online.
  • Learn more at these public hearings:
  • Tuesday, March 9: City Council Work Study Session – (limited public participation)
  • Wednesday March 10: Planning Commission – Non-Action Agenda
  • Tuesday, March 23: City Council Work Study Session – limited public participation
  • Wednesday, March 24: Planning Commission – Remote Planning Hearing

Review the Events Calendar closer to the date and tune into the hearings.

Timeline/Schedule:

The draft plan is currently making its way through a  state-required public hearing process that includes extensive public involvement and input from city boards and commission, along with multiple Planning Commission and City Council hearings. Public input is being collected through City Council consideration in adopting the draft plan; anticipated in June 2021. If the City Council decides to adopt the plan, it would be sent to voters on the November 2021 ballot.
