On Tuesday, August 5th from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Les Conklin, the editor of The Peak magazine a will present the best photographs of landscapes, wildlife, landscapes, and local people entered in The Peak‘s Summer Fun Photography Contest, which ends on July 31st (still time to enter). Winners of the Summer Fun Write Stuff Contest, which also ends on the 31st of July, will also be announced. Les will also use photographs and interesting stories to recount the history of Pinnacle Peak and the surrounding community and provide a brief update on activities related to the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive.

Hall Les ConklinLes Conklin Greater Pinnacle Peak Association, was inducted in Scottsdale’s History Maker Hall of Fame in April.  He is the author of “Pinnacle Peak – Images of America,” published by Arcadia Publishing.

Les Conklin is a resident of north Scottsdale He founded Friends of the Scenic Drive, the Monte de Paz HOA and is the president of the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association. He was named to Scottsdale's History Maker Hall of Fame in 2014. Les is a past editor of A Peek at the Peak and the author of Images of America: Pinnacle Peak. He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.
