The Peak‘s Beautiful Skies Photo Contest Ends March 10th

Have Fun – Get Prizes, Published and Recognition

This contest was inspired by the photo Earthrise, taken by Apollo 8 Astronaut William Anders during a lunar orbit on December 24, 1968. Acclaimed nature photographer Galen Rowell called the image “… the most influential environmental photo ever taken.”

Please don’t be concerned. We’re not asking you to leave earth so you can capture a winning shot of our aerial environment.

Entrants are encouraged to submit their favorite original photographs of Sonoran sunsets, sunrises, full moons, clouds, lightening, stars, etc. The photographs must have been taken in Scottsdale and neighboring Desert Foothills communities. The photograph must have been taken by the entrant in the last three years and cannot have been previously published in The Peak.

The contest is free and entrants can submit a maximum of four different photographs. Entrants must submit an entry form along with their entries by midnight, Saturday, March 10, 2018. See “Rules and Entry Form” below for details.

Prizes Will Be Awarded

  • First Place. $100 gift card for Carvalho’s Brazilian Kitchen
  • Second Place. $50 gift card for Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Win Bar
  • Third Place. $25 AMC Entertainment Gift Card
  • All winners will also receive a Summit Diner discount cards

All winning photographs and selected non-winning photographs will be published in The Peak and publicized in The Peak’s newsletter and on The Peak’s Facebook page. Winning photographs will be published in either or both the March Update or April issues of this magazine.
