State, City Officials to Discuss Issues, Provide Information, Answer Questions

Concerned about the state’s request to place new commercial and resort/tourism zoning on Scottsdale Road and other scenic corridors? Concerned about the impact commercial zoning will have on Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive and your neighborhood? Look south on Scottsdale Road. What do you see? Concerned? Attend the GPPA-sponsored public meeting at Florence Ely Nelson Desert Park building (formerly La Mirada Park), 8950 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Scottsdale on May 20, 6 p.m.  The park is located immediately east of the La Mirada Shopping Center.

This meeting is an opportunity for you and your neighbors to learn and ask questions about proposals that will shape the character and future of north Scottsdale and the completion of the the city’s McDowell Sonoran Presrve. How did the rezoning proposals come about? Who is responsible for making these proposals? Why are they being proposed? What does it mean to you and future residents? Is there an alternative to these proposals? Has anyone considered them?

Greater Pinnacle Peak Association, State Land Department, and City of Scottsdale officials will make presentations. A professional facilitator will encourage a free-and-open question and answer session between concerned residents and officials.

The meeting is being organized by the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association – Friends of the Scenic Drive as a community service. Admission if free, seating is limited, and  advance registration is encouraged (helps GPPA plan, saves time, and guarantees seating).  To register now, click below.
