Howdie Parder. Since I’m sure that someone has already written “Music for Dummies,” Desert Les is writing “Music for Smarties.” It’s for people like you. Yup.
Below is a press release from the folks at the Musical Instrument Museum. The release describes a smart new program that makes it easy for you and your family to enjoy and learn about the world of music right down the road a piece.
MIM Introduces Inaugural Membership Program
Free Admission and Museum Benefits Await “Friends of MIM”
PHOENIX (April 9, 2015) âNow celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) continues to offer enriching exhibits, programs and concerts to the community it serves. In honor of this milestone, and as a gift to the community, MIM is launching the âFriends of MIMâ membership program on April 20. The program grants complimentary admission, special discounts and many other benefits to its members.
The âFriends of MIMâ program offers two membership options. At the $100 âDuoâ level, guests receive two unlimited museum admission passes for one year, a 10 percent discount at the Museum Store and Café Allegro, subscriptions to e-newsletters and an invitation to an annual âFriends of MIMâ night.
At the $150 âFamilyâ level, guests have access to all of the benefits listed above, plus free admission for cardholdersâ children ages 19 years and under, with the cardholder present at the time of visit.
Guests have the option of paying annually or monthly, and both membership levels are fully tax-deductible.
âWeâre thrilled to introduce the âFriends of MIMâ membership program during such a momentous occasion for the museum,â said Maureen OâBrien, director of institutional advancement at MIM. âThese new benefits and opportunities will deepen the communityâs appreciation for global music, artists and instruments while increasing the museumâs accessibility.â
The âFriends of MIMâ membership program joinâs MIMâs existing philanthropic giving program, âCircle of Friends.â Those joining at the $250 level will receive additional benefits, such as free admission for cardholdersâ grandchildren (ages 19 years and under), two guest passes and two tickets to each special exhibition in the Target Gallery. Information about higher levels for the âCircle of Friendsâ program and their corresponding benefits can be found at MIM.org.
The Musical Instrument Museum is located at 4725 E. Mayo Boulevard in Phoenix (corner of Tatum and Mayo Boulevards, just south of Loop 101). For general museum information and a full schedule of events, visit MIM.org or call 480.478.6000.
