Three years have passed since The Peak published “Artist Creates Flights of Fantasy in a Control Tower Studio.” The article, published in March 1918, featured bright, bold and entertaining paintings by Gayle Conklin Lowe.

When Ms. Lowe, cousin of The Peak‘s editor,  Les Conklin,  submitted photographs of her art, she wrote, “I’m not sure any of my paintings are good enough to be published in GPPA’s magazine, but I am sending a few for your consideration.” When Les asked if her paintings had captions, she replied “No, not at this point.”

Last month, Gayle Lowe submitted a new batch of images for The Peak‘s consideration. Many of those paintings appear below. Once again, Lowe did not include captions for the paintings. This time the editor, knowing that his lifelong friend and cousin has a great sense of humor, is including his own captions for the artist’s consideration.

Incidentally, Gayle Conklin Lowe continues to take art lessons, provide assessment consultation services for the healthcare industry, fly her own airplane and with her husband, David Lowe, operate a private airfield in Kentucky.  Work has brought her to Scottsdale several times in recent years and she notes that ten of her paintings have been sold to galleries.
