Every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Holland Community Center. Open to the public with cards starting at $13. Raffle prizes and $375 cash paid out weekly. HOLLAND GALLERY OF ART:

The second show of the season is now taking place in the Holland Gallery of Fine Art, and it is called Beyond Turbulence. This show continues until November 30. The next show is put on by the Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona. This show will run from December 15 – January 26. This is a wonderful opportunity to see and experience some incredible art!

Canvas & Coffee
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join Sunny Hall, owner of Paint and Gogh, for a creative painting experience that is a step-by-step guided acrylic painting class. You will take home your 16″ x 20″ acrylic painting of a Saguaro at Sunset at the end of the class. All supplies are furnished, including easels, paint, canvas, aprons and brushes. Wednesday, December 6, 2017
Morning Joe with TED
9:00 – 11:00 AM

Fresh coffee and hot topics! Nothing beats a fresh cup of coffee and gathering with interesting people. This is 8 month series, and each month a different topic will be explored through the TED talks medium, which consists of a short video (20 min.), with host, Mark Sweeney, facilitating conversation afterwards. ($2 at the door). The topic for December is Entertainment. Register at www.azfcf.org.

 

Fridays, once a month. Next group will meet on December 1 to discuss a show put on by the Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona.
Art, Coffee, and Conversation
10:00 AM – Noon

Join a varied group of artists currently exhibiting at the Holland Gallery of Fine Art in an informal and informational discussion about the creative process. Get up close and personal with the artist and his/her art, and get a chance to ask questions about technique and inspiration. Register at www.azfcf.org

Happy Hour Meditation
6:00 – 7:00 PM

This class is designed to train students in effective strategies for improving mental health, reducing stress and enhancing one’s life. Meditation will become so easy for you that you will incorporate it into your life immediately! $20 per session. Register at www.azfcf.org

Healthy Home Care with Essential Oils
1:30 – 3:30

This is a two-hour workshop on how to make your own healthy home care products with essential oils. Make and take home at least one non-toxic, effective Home Care Product. $25 and all supplies are included. Register at www.azfcf.org

 

Saturday, December 9
Presentation on Pain Management
8:30 – 10:00 am

In this seminar, you will learn about the keys to an accurate diagnosis, the importance of steering clear from the symptom-only treatments and hear about amazing new technologies now available to treat the pain source. Dr. Thakkar, who practices locally at AZ Pain Doctors near the Boulders, will host an informal question and answer period following the presentation; refreshments will be served. Les Conklin is a resident of north Scottsdale He founded Friends of the Scenic Drive, the Monte de Paz HOA and is the president of the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association. He was named to Scottsdale's History Maker Hall of Fame in 2014. Les is a past editor of A Peek at the Peak and the author of Images of America: Pinnacle Peak. He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.
