Howdie Pardner,

Yup. It’s good to see you again. Desert Les is back. Not because them Peak readers demanded it but because the fool editor told Desert Les to fill this here white space with interestin’ doings and seeings.

Well I’ll be danged. The editor actually reads what you folks send in. Yup.

Today, he came into my spacious cubicle and screamed, “Desert Les, “I’m too busy and too young to for this story. Look at the video Scottsdale Councilwoman Virginia Korte  mentioned in her  November newsletter.  You’re ancient and might remember some of the events and people in the video.  Miracles do happen.”

Pardner, the video made Desert Les’ day and I hope it makes yours too!  Its title is “Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve turns 25”  and it’s a tribute to the people who helped lead the community in creating the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  Desert Les is real proud that he worked with and got to know many of the  “Preserve Pioneers” and fondly re calls them and the events summarized in the video. Heck, it’s not only them “pioneers” that Desert Les got to know. The best things about the preserve initiative is that it brought a lot of good folks together working toward a terrific goal. Yup.

Pardner. if you search The Peak you’ll find some related articles from back in them days.  You surely will.
