Saving water can save you $$$ this November

Cooler temperatures mean less water for your lawn. Bermuda grass becomes dormant this time of year and only needs water about once every two weeks. Remember to adjust your irrigation/sprinkler controller to water once every two weeks. It only takes a few minutes. Skip a winter lawn altogether — don’t overseed with ryegrass — and save even more! Find more water saving tips at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “water conservation.”

Household Hazardous Waste home pickup available

Scottsdale residents can properly dispose of household hazardous waste through our free Home Household Hazardous Waste Collection. This service is offered to 200 residents per month on a first-come, first-served basis. Schedule an at-home pick up by filling out the registration form online. For a list of accepted items, call 480-312-5600 or visit the city’s home page at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “recycling.”

Stay in shape through the holidays

They can gain confidence and coordination in “dance combo” classes and sweat their way to supreme fitness levels in kickboxing. Adults can find balance in a gentle yoga class, sculpt and tone in belly dancing or burn extra holiday calories in one of our many fitness classes. For detailed class information, visit Recreation.ScottsdaleAZ.gov or call 480-312-7957.
