Adopt-A-Road, Scottsdale Clean & Scenic Newsletter, January 2017

sf12_scenicdrive_looking south“On the Road Again” is the official title of the new newsletter that has been published by the city to support it Adopt-A-Road initiative.  The newsletter will be published every six months. The main topics covered in this inaugural issue are:

  • April 22, 2017 has been designated as a city-wide day for Adopt-A-Road participants to conduct cleanups;
  • Adopt-A-Road groups cleared more than 75 miles of roadside of litter in the last city-wide effort;
  • Adopt-A-Road groups are asked to check that their roadside recognition signs are present and correct.

Friends of the Scenic will support the city-wide cleanup on April 22nd, and is proud to have been one of the inaugural groups to participate in Scottsdale’s Adopt-A-Road program. Friends of the Scenic Drive cleared more than 13 miles of litter in the last city-wide effort, representing more than 17 percent of the city-wide total. Finally, Friends of the Scenic Drive thanks the city for offering to replace recognition signs that have been lost or stolen in recent years.
