Thank You!

A Peek at the Peak (The Peak) magazine was first published in 1983, more than 32 years ago. Back then north Scottsdale did not exist. Much has changed and The Peak has changed, too. Last month, November, 2015, The Peak CELEBRATED its firs anniversary as an online magazine. The Peak is now published more frequently, has more content than ever, has more readers than ever, and readership continues to climb with each passing month.

As the editor of The Peak, I just want to say THANK YOU for all you do to our members, sponsors, editorial contributors, and volunteers. You are the ones who provide the resources and experience that brings the success our organization and publications are experiencing. We have good reason to feel proud of what we do.

I’m sure I speak for our entire board when I also thank you for your support of Scottsdale’s Scenic Drive. It appears that our Save the Scenic Drive campaign is working. A big thank you to all of you who have been donating your time and participating in our Keep Scottsdale Beautiful litter pickups. With your support, Friends of the Scenic Drive is able to clear litter from 13 miles of Scottsdale Road roadside with almost every cleanup.

Happy Birthday Horst!!

Speaking of Scenic Drive litter pickups, one of the people who has made them successful for almost 20 years is Horst Berkner. On Sunday, November 29th, Friends and family enjoyed a wonderful dinner and celebrated Horst’s 80th birthday at Grayhawk Golf Club. Thanks to board member Cindy Lee for sending along the photo included with this article.
