Scottsdale City Court offers virtual civil traffic hearing court and other online services
Scottsdale City Court continues to expand its use of technology and increase accessibility to the City Court amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have a responsibility to keep people safe, while at the same time ensure the wheels of justice continue to work efficiently and effectively,” said Court
Administrator Ken Kung.
Using programs such as Microsoft Teams, Apple FaceTime, Skype and Zoom, Scottsdale City Court is offering the ability for people to participate in court hearings
remotely.
The City Court recently improved its remote appearance process to include civil traffic hearings. A defendant, and state and court representatives can appear online to hear and resolve these cases.
The court offers other online services, including:
- Looking up a case status
- Filing a motion/request to the court for a case
- Making an appointment to see a judge or clerk
- Making a payment or requesting a payment contract
- Attending a defensive driving class
- Requesting an online dispute resolution for criminal misdemeanors
- Requesting an online parking hearing
- Requesting to quash a warrant
- Requesting a certified copy of case records
- Searching for a court date
- Requesting a protective order
