David, We’ve posted your comment and hopefully a reader with some information will read it and respond. Curry’s Corner is about two miles from here. If you want to send a copy of the obituary to info@thepeakaz.org (PDF or JPG) or The Peak, 8711 E. Pinnacle Peak Road #123, Scottsdale, AZ 85226 (postal), we can publish it and see if it brings anything. Editor

When I was a young teenager (14 or 15) my family would hike and explore the area around Curry’s Corner. It was on one of those adventures that I had a chance to find a medal from WW1. The name on the back of the medal says “The Great War For Civilization 1914-1919”. On the edge of the medal is a name of a Walter Livingston. I have had this medal for the best part of 50 years. Until recently I and a friend of mine have been trying to find the surviving relatives in order to return this medal to his family. We have contacted a Major Jason Adams, Executive Assistant to Commander, 3rd Canadian Division Department of National Defense/Government of Canada who has given us some substantial military background of Sgt. W. Livingston, however we are unable to locate surviving relatives. Through the information we received from Major Adams we were able to locate Sgt. Livingston’s obituary. His obituary mentions Curry’s Corner. I would appreciate any help you might be able to provide in order to place this memorable medal in the hand of any surviving relatives.

Many Thanks

David Schurkamp
