Attend Open Meeting on Nov. 2nd https://apeekatthepeak.org/nifty-outpost-nasty-inroad-choice-attend-open-meeting-nov-2nd/ A Scottsdale Community Publication Tue, 01 Nov 2016 01:58:08 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 By: Juanita Enkoji https://apeekatthepeak.org/nifty-outpost-nasty-inroad-choice-attend-open-meeting-nov-2nd/#comment-2559 Sat, 22 Oct 2016 23:14:26 +0000 https://apeekatthepeak.org/?p=15420#comment-2559 This development represents the first major zoning amendment approved by the Scottsdale
City Council for commercial construction next to rural zoned land and sets a precedent
for such commercial development in North Scottsdale. Both the Planning Commission and
members of the City Council praised
the design of the project as another worthy creation by architect Vernon Swaback who also has been
commissioned to design the proposed Desert Discovery Center within the Macdowell Sonoran
Preserve. I see nothing so worthy of such praise in this design and believe that the
architect’s name on the project was enlisted to gain approval for the gas station for
which the owner of the land is now requesting a conditional permit. This Project faced
strong opposition by residents in the area, but was approved nevertheless.
