Skagen & Copenhagen, Denmark with Henry and Roberta Kritzia

Henry and Roberta Kritzia of Cave Creek, Arizona are celebrating 30 years of designing and conducting unique “one of a kind” European tours. This year their tour will take you to the country of Denmark which was just voted, in 2016, as the place of “the happiest people in the world”.

We will be staying at two, 4-star hotels, carefully selected by Roberta and Henry. This tour covers its participant’s admissions to all museums and sites on the itinerary.

Roberta and Henry will be your personal guides throughout the tour. Get ready, as you will be spoiled from start to finish on this tour … from the moment you are picked up by their private motor coach to the end of the tour when you are taken to the departing international airport.

The itinerary includes 12 buffet breakfasts and 6 gourmet meals. All restaurants have been personally chosen by Roberta and Henry and special attention is made for each participant’s dietary preferences.

This is truly “small group travel at its best”. Several of our participants have traveled with us many times. They are known to ask us “Where are we going next year, Roberta and Henry”?

This year’s journey, to Skagen & Copenhagen, Denmark, will provide participants with an opportunity to visit the colorful Nyhavn Harbor the 1700’s architecturally rich area of Copenhagen. It was the living quarters, for many years, of the noted fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.

A canal trip in Nyhavn is also scheduled. During our days in Copenhagen we will visit the famous TIVOLI Entertainment Center and we will attend a performance of the “Commedia del Arte”  by the Royal Danish Ballet. Walt Disney was so captivated by the lovely aspect of the manicured gardens intertwined with the amusement park elements of Tivoli that he then incorporated many aspects of Tivoli into his Disneyland parks. Also, we will experience the world’s longest shopping street“STROGET”.

Copenhagen’s Botanical Garden will take your breath away … the garden features a collection of 10,000 exotic plants and palms.

We will also spend 5 days in the Skagen area, which is the uppermost northern tip of Denmark. This region of Jytland will offer the participant the chance to experience the noted Artist Colony of Skagen. Their art work was produced in the late 1800’s. The Skagen Art Museum exhibits an extensive collection of this Art Colony’s work by the noted artists P. S. Kroyer and Michael & Ann Ancher.

Imagine standing with one foot in the North Sea while the other foot is in the Baltic Sea? Each of these oceans has a different pattern to their waves, truly an amazing sight. While in the quaint town of Skagen you will want to see the local craftsmen’s shops and studios.

What makes Roberta and Henry’s tours so unique is first that there are always daily choices for each participant and secondly, you will have the security of knowing that all details have been worked out for the participant’s ease of travel. This allows you to travel through our days together without any worries and you will quickly see that you are traveling with a congenial small group of people.

The trip concludes with a Gala Final Dinner Party. So we say … “Carpe Diem”

  1. So, here we go with Glenn Vilppu, master art instructor as he teaches his way through Denmark. He works with each participant on his yearly Sketching on Location Tour to Europe. This year the destination is Denmark. Wanna join him on this unique journey that will promise a sketchbook full of pen and ink sketches as well as watercolor paintings.
