Seeing and Doing: Enjoying Snow Scenes at Tom’s Thumb Trailhead, Jan. 1, 2015

By Howard Myers

The new year came in with a dramatic snow fall that touched higher areas in the Valley of the Sun. Attached are some pictures that I took at the Tom’s Thumb trailhead in the McDowell  Mountains in north Scottsdale. As these photographs show, the McDowells Mountains, distant Four Peaks, and the Mazatzals got a pretty good dusting, even some on Pinnacle Peak. Snow, not what the chamber of commerce ordered, but a neat and unusual way to bring in 2015.
