Scottsdale Seeks Cultural Resources Master Plan Input

The City of Scottsdale and the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy have embarked on a program to safeguard “cultural resources” within the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. These resources include both historic, such as Brown’s Ranch, and pre-historic sites, including rock shelters and artifact “scatters”.

A consulting firm has been retained to develop a cultural resources master plan. The public has been invited to engage in this process, which is now underway. The first of several community meetings was held in June and surveys can be completed online. You can also read and comment on the draft plan by visiting www.scottsdaleaz.gov/preserve/crmp. Comments should be submitted by July 10, 2015.
