Scottsdale pools & splash pads will keep you cool this summer

With temperatures forecasted to hit 110 degrees or higher this week, you are probably going to be in the market for a fun activity that keeps you cool. May we suggest that you check out the four Scottsdale pools and various splash pads that provide cool relief during the Arizona summer. Check our website for more information about hours the pools are open for public swim, admission cost and other information. Pools Cactus Aquatic & Fitness Center Chaparral Aquatic Center Eldorado Aquatic & Fitness Center McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic & Fitness Center Splash Pads/Water Features Chesnutt Park Florence Ely Nelson Desert Park Paiute Park Pima Park Vista del Camino Park If you are looking for a unique location for a large event or celebration this summer, take a look at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic Center. Mighty Mud Mania returns June 11

Mighty Mud Mania, Scottsdale’s premier dirtiest good clean fun event, is back June 11 for its 41st year. We’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, fast passes will be available for the Original and Extreme Courses. Fast passes are now on sale for residents, and will be available for nonresidents 7 a.m. on May 3 at Recreation.ScottsdaleAZ.gov. The pass cost is $10, and can only be used once at a specific time. Only 500 passes will be sold, so get yours today! Visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search “Mighty Mud Mania” for more details!

 

Horizon Dog Park closed through June 27

The Horizon Dog Park, located at 15444 N.100th St., will be closed June 6 – 27 for a turf renovation project. The end result will be improved turf for our furry friends to enjoy. In the meantime, please use one of Scottsdale’s other dog parks: Chaparral Dog Park SE Corner of Hayden Road & McDonald Drive Vista del Camino Dog Park 7700 E. Roosevelt St. Scottsdale, AZ 85257

 

 

New barre class at Club SAR

Club SAR is excited to announce a new class to its fitness line up starting June 6; a Barre Class on Monday evenings! The one hour class starts at 5 p.m. The isometric contractions that make up the bulk of a barre class will lengthen and strengthen your muscles, sculpt arms, tone thighs and glutes and flatten abs. The best part? It’s included FREE in your Club SAR membership (which start as low as $99 A YEAR)!

 

Moonlight swim

No need for sunscreen - enjoy swimming without worrying about the sun. McDowell Mountain Ranch will host a moonlight swim from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, June 17. Eldorado Aquatic Center will also host one from 5 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. Mark your calendar and come enjoy an evening under the stars! McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park free concert series continues in June

Free concerts! Scottsdale’s McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park hosts its free Sunday Concert Series from 7:30 to 9 p.m. through July 3. Bring a blanket or chair, and hear a variety of favorite local bands. Food will also be available for purchase. Train and carousel rides are $2. Children two and younger ride free with a paying adult. The park is located at 7301 E. Indian Bend Road, on the southeast corner of Indian Bend and Scottsdale roads. Tennis lessons still available

Tennis lessons are still available for adults and seniors for Summer sessions. In addition, juniors from age 5-17 can learn tennis or improve their game. Registration is on-going for the three 4-week Summer sessions. For registration or other information, call the tennis centers; Scottsdale Ranch Park Tennis Center at 480-312-7774 or Indian School Park Tennis Center at 480-312-2740 or visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search “tennis”.
