Mark your calendar for Desert Discovery Center meetings. The proposed DDC concept will be available for community review at a series of meetings in August and September, culminating with the City Council Study Session in late September. The opportunities in August include:
• 4 p.m. Aug. 10 – Joint McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission & Tourism Development Commission Study Session (non-action item) – City Hall Kiva, 3939 N Drinkwater Blvd.
• 1 p.m. Aug 17 – Development Review Board Study Session (non-action item) – City Hall Kiva, 3939 N Drinkwater Blvd.
• 4:30 p.m. Aug 23 – Planning Commission Study Session (non-action item) – City Hall Kiva, 3939 N Drinkwater Blvd.
Neighborhood College starts fall classes. Registration is available for Scottsdale’s Neighborhood College, a series of free classes where residents can receive the information, resources and tools needed to become effective neighborhood leaders. The city’s information line connects you with live operators who have much of the event, traffic and meeting information that you want, or they’ll forward your call to the correct department for further assistance. The line is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and for special events as publicized.
