“Black Mountain Landmark” by Heinz Kagerer
The Scottsdale man who discovered the treasure was Don Schoenau. The year of discovery was 1998. The treasure was a collection of 1960s issues of the Black Mountain News.
Don was the president of GPPA and also served as editor/publisher of The Peak. Today, the articles, which were written by Corkie Cockburn, are part of The Peak.
