Editor’s Note. Welcome Nikki! What great news! Thank you for contributing this article. We look forward to more great articles in the future.

Hello Peak friends and family, I am Nikki Larson the newest member to The Peak Magazine. I attend Cactus Shadows High School and am very active within the community owning and showing Arabian horses as well as playing golf for the high school team. I am excited to join The Peak Family and bring updates to The Peaks social media sites as wells expand our reach to new members within this beautiful community.

Not only am I a new member to The Peak magazine, but I also showed at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show which is still going on through Sunday February 22. The horse show is one of the largest Arabian horse shows in the world with over 2,600 horses competing in a variety of different disciplines from, western, hunter, English, park, reining to native costume and jumping. This is by far my favorite show, with many activities, such as shopping, watching horses compete, barn tours to see horses and trainers up close, riding exhibits and food and drinks from Scottsdale’s finest restaurants. This is such a fun event to go watch with friends, family as younger kids love watching the beautiful horses compete.

This year’s show was very competitive with even more horses in the classes from last year and I am honored to be coming home with tw0 Scottsdale 2015 Championships! In addition, I also was honored with; A Reserve Championship, two first places, a fourth and multiple top tens! Winning a Scottsdale championship is a huge achievement, and very hard to accomplish. I have trained with the Arabian breed for over ten years and have been riding since I was four. There is a lot of skills acquired from riding horses and to win or do well requires lots of dedication, practice and determination. This show has brought me to my 10th Champion or reserve champion title!  I would highly recommend going out to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show it will forever hold a special place in my heart and I think you will feel the same thing if you attend. The show is daily from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Through Sunday.

Hope to see you there and thank you for welcoming me to The Peak Family
