Desert Foothills Woman’s Club Hosts Annual Fundraiser

You won’t need a “secret knock” to enter The Speakeasy On Easy Street at 100 Easy Street in Carefree on Thursday, February 11, 2016. All you need are plans for fun, lively music for dancing, silent auction, and lots of surprises! Don your fancy frocks, furs, diamonds and high heels! Play Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardner! The band is warming up to give you an evening you won’t forget, presented by The Desert Foothills Woman’s Club, while raising funds for scholarships and local community nonprofits. The rousing event begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m. Don’t miss a minute!

HOORAY FOR OLD HOLLYWOOD! will feature music and dancing, food, silent auction and a cash raffle. Beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $60.00 per person with proceeds benefitting student scholarships and local area nonprofits such as Cave Creek Museum, Desert Foothills Land Trust, Desert Foothills Library, Foothills Caring Corps, Foothills Food Bank and Horses Help. Seating is limited. This year’s fundraiser is being generously sponsored by Tech 4 Life Computers, Website & Training and Renae Watkins Wealth Management Private Bank BBVA Compass Bank. Cash donations, items for the Silent Auction and advertisements in the Hooray For Old Hollywood! program are also being gratefully accepted.

Desert Foothills Woman’s Club is exclusively charitable and educational, extending friendship to all women in the Greater Desert Foothills area. DFWC has been in existence since 1960, meeting monthly for a luncheon and to hear a featured speaker of local interest. There are also groups of members that meet once a month for special interests such as journaling, painting, cards, bunco, movies, dinner groups and short day trips.
