Children ages 2½ to 5, or those who have not yet entered kindergarten, are encouraged to join us for a 30-minute storytime featuring books, music, flannel stories and puppets. Each week there will be an art or movement activity of some kind following the stories. Siblings are welcome. Registration is not required.

Learn how to code using software funded by the AZ State Library. Registration required. Limited to 12 people, if using a library computer. If you have your own wi-fi-enabled laptop or tablet, you are guaranteed a spot. No experience necessary. Tutorials provided. Everyone learns at their own pace. Parental sign-up is required at first session. You must be able to read at a 3rd grade level, or higher.

Reader’s Theatre Puppet Club
Beginning readers, ages 5 to 8 (going into grades 1-3), will strengthen literacy skills such as identifying character values and reading with expression, as well as puppet creation and drama skills. Bring your creativity and imagination. Led by a former Great AZ Puppet Theater staffperson. This program is a joint collaboration of the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church and the Desert Foothills Library. Registration is required. More dates in July for this ongoing series.

Les Conklin is a resident of north Scottsdale He founded Friends of the Scenic Drive, the Monte de Paz HOA and is the president of the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association. He was named to Scottsdale's History Maker Hall of Fame in 2014. Les is a past editor of A Peek at the Peak and the author of Images of America: Pinnacle Peak. He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.
