Desert Discovery Center STEM Educational Program Announced

The Desert Discovery Center Scottsdale Pilot Educational Program recently kicked off at Scottsdale Community College. The program was a collaboration of DDCS staff, Arizona State University’s Global Institute of Sustainability and Scottsdale Community College. For information, click below.

He was named to Scottsdale's History Maker Hall of Fame in 2014. Les is a past editor of A Peek at the Peak and the author of Images of America: Pinnacle Peak. He served on the Scottsdale's Pride Commission, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the boards of several local nonprofits and was a founding organizer of the city's Adopt-A-Road Program.. Les is a volunteer guide at the Musical Instrument Museum.

  1. We researched this program thoroughly in near real-time as it was being proposed. The response from SUSD originally was 5 teachers. After they added a grade level, opened it up to two more districts and two charters, it was 17 total even with a $500 incentive to each teacher. Not much of a success.
