CCUSD Students Respond to Community Service Challenge

Cave Creek Unified School District – Superintendent’s Challenge

Dr. Debbi Burdick, Superintendent of the Cave Creek Unified School District, is pleased to announce that thirty-four seniors have participated in the Superintendent’s Challenge and contributed 8,814.5 hours of community service to the community. Eight students will receive a Varsity Letter for performing 200 plus hours of community service for the 2014-15 school year. Those students are: Jenalee Beazley, Jamie Behymer, Dusty Berthold, Alex Bodiroga, Abbey Brandt, Michelle Hugo, Nancy Scotto and Spencer Silberman.

Superintendent Burdick issued a challenge for Cactus Shadows High School students beginning July 1, 2012 – earn 50 hours or more per year in Community Service (200 hours total 4 years) by your senior year and receive a Superintendent’s Challenge honor cord and certificate. New for the 2014-15 school year, the Falcons were further challenged by the Superintendent – earn 200 hours in the 2014-15 school year and receive a Varsity Letter.

The Superintendent’s Challenge was opened up to Sonoran Trails Middle School Students for the 2013-14 school year – 7th graders who accumulate 25 hours by May 2015 will receive a certificate of achievement – 8th graders who accumulate 25 hours by May 2015 will receive a community service pin and certificate of achievement.

For the 2014-15 school year, the Superintendent’s Challenge was opened up to CCUSD students in grades 5 and 6. Accumulate 15 hours by May 2015 and receive your Superintendent’s Challenge Certificate of Achievement.
