Artists’ Loft by Natalie Keller

keller_sal_febDSC_5537_500We have a new and unique gallery that opened in the el Pedregal Festival Marketplace! The Boulders Resort teamed up with the Sonoran Arts League and offered a 3200 square foot space on the second floor of the el Pedregal to bring the community a beautiful new venue for art. It’s a fantastic space well suited for a gallery. “The Gallery at el Pedregal” opened its doors in December with a huge splash…the Holiday Artisans Market! It was a very successful opening for a wonderful new venue for the league!

We can expect the gallery to be a very important part of the community not only because of the beautiful collection of art displayed but for the workshops and classes that will be offered to the public. The League will continue their Youth Art programs and scholarships and also include workshops for school age children and young adults. The Sonoran Arts League will also have their youth participants’ art displayed after their celebration of art and awards. The youth summer program will be held at the gallery in the near future.

keller_salDSC_5543_500The three “in residence artists” will be in attendance daily and demo their creative talents while in the gallery. Artists will rotate every three months along with the gallery art. The league wants to keep the look fresh, along with happy artists and clients. You can feast your eyes on 2D and 3D art…paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculptures, photography, fabric art and much more. Over 50 artists will be displaying their works and devoting time to working in the gallery along with the “in residence artists”.

The Gallery at el Pedregal is a good place to buy creative gifts for friends and family…or to decorate your home with fine art. They are also planning some workshops for individuals who want to do something creative and then take their “master piece” home with them. Something that you can be proud of…that you created in a few hours. The Sonoran Arts League members have huge plans for this gallery and from what I have seen so far…it’s sure to happen! Stop in, you’ll can’t imagine what you will find!

keller_sal_5547_2_500There are quaint places all around The Gallery at el Pedregal! Stop for lunch or a treat when you finish your shopping at the gallery…parking is never a problem! The Gallery at el Pedregal will be opened from 11am to 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Sunday it is open from 12pm to 5pm. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Call or visit often and see what’s happening at the gallery!

Needless to say it was a huge undertaking and a committee of artists made this happen. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with this endeavor and kudos to the league for being such a steward in the community! Remember, The Sonoran Arts League is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization serving a local, regional and statewide membership base and drawing friends and followers throughout the USA and Canada. Dedicated to actively advancing art, artists and art education, Sonoran Arts League presents exceptional programs for people of all ages, experience and interests.keller_salDSC_5549_500
