Pay your respect Pinnacle Peak’s famous watering holes of the past: Greasewood Flat, Pinnacle Peak Patio, and Reata Pass Steakhouse, by having a necktie cut off. Your traditional “sacrifice” to Scottsdale’s Old West Watering Holes will be just part of the fun on Saturday, March 5th, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Headquarters Cookout Site at MacDonald’s Ranch, located at 26540 N. Scottsdale Road in north Scottsdale. MacDonald’s will be alive with family fun, food, music, rescued animals – wild and otherwise, community exhibits, and western games. It’s all part of the 2016 Scottsdale Western Cookout Adventure.

The Waterhole Tribute will include:

  • Necktie Cutting Photo Opportunity. If you don’t own a tie or just don’t want to wear one, we’ll have some beauties available. Pinnacle Peak Patio’s “Big Marv” Dickson will “cut off” the tie as you take a selfie or a friend captures a picture of what  many unsuspecting businessmen experienced at Pinnacle Peak Patio in days of yore.  Bring your camera or cell phone. We will have a selfie stick available.
  • Cut Necktie Drawing. A stay and dinner in at the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North, including dinner for two, is the prize.
  • Watering Hole Drawing.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The first place prize is a stay at Scottsdale’s Fairmont Princess Resort.
  • Live Music by Scottsdale’s Own Geoff Conklin.  Geoff entertained thousands visitors and residents at these famous watering holes for more than a decade.
  • Exhibits of Historical Items. For more than 50 years, Big Marv collected artifacts of Pinnacle Peak’s western past, many of which were on display at Pinnacle at Pinnacle Peak Patio. He will be exhibiting some of those items as part of the tribute.
  • And more!
