Terravita resident retired USAF fighter pilot, Mark Berent, went through the 10th SFG jump school at Bad Tolz in May 1956. Ten years later, as an F-100 pilot at Bien Hoa he hooked up with the III Corps Mike Force, Det. A-302. During his time in SEA he became aware of the catastrophic edicts from the White House particularly those from the Johnson- McNamara administration. He wrote a five-book historical fiction series of just how that administration not only prolonged the war but caused thousands of unnecessary casualties.

The reader gets the untold back stories of fighter pilots, special operators, spies, politicians (in both the Pentagon and the White House), airline stewardesses, tortured POWs, air and ground combat, unscrupulous reporters, and the role of Russian pilots in the Vietnam War.
